Shamanism is an ancient tradition of empowerment, healing, and walking in harmony with the world. From when our earliest ancestors painted the caves of the earth, 30,000 years ago, to when the Romans burnt the groves of the Druids some 28,000 years later, the people of prehistoric Europe followed a shamanic path.
I have spent years researching these ancient traditions: both through academic study whilst working for a PhD in archaeology, and also through my practical experience of shamanism.
My books include the award-winning Follow the Shaman’s Call: An Ancient Path for Modern Lives, which is a practical guide to ancient European shamanism, and Prehistoric Belief: Shamans, Trance and the Afterlife, which is an in-depth look at prehistoric shamanic beliefs from the Ice Age to the Iron Age.
My new book, The Shaman's Spirit: Discovering the Wisdom of Nature, Power Animals, Sacred Places and Rituals - a practical guide to shamanism drawing on indigenous traditions from around the world - is out now and can be ordered at Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk.
